Barbara "Bobbi" S. Lapotasky

–

Shrewsbury, New Jersey

It is with sadness but a touch of joy as we celebrate and remember the spirited life of Barbara S. Lapotasky, fondly known as Bobbi. Barbara was born to Doris Schneider and Edward Carroll on March 2, 1944, in Somerville, New Jersey. With her witty sense of humor and laughter, she embraced the world with a loving heart. Filled with joy and a playful spirit, Bobbi possessed an undeniable zest for life. Her sparkling blue eyes and vivacious personality will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Bobbi spent most of her professional life serving smiles and dishes at various restaurants in New Jersey and North Carolina. A waitress by profession, she was much more than that to her customers. Her energy and warmth made her a favorite among the regulars, making their meals memorable with her jovial conversations and laughter. She took pleasure in the simple things in life, like her Swimnastics and the camaraderie among The Red Hat ladies. Above all else, she cherished her family, her friends, her faith and a good glass of wine—though the exact order was always open for debate. Barbara also had an eccentric love for giraffes, a fascination that only added charm to her delightful personality.

Bobbi will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by her surviving children: Tom Connell and wife Jane Connell, Sandy Connell and husband Steve Ellis, Michael Lapotasky and wife Leslie Lapotasky, stepdaughters Karen Ash and Barbie Bauman, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her sister Carol "Squeekie" Lane. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris and husband Charlie Juliussen, father Edward Carroll, and her beloved husband, John J. Lapotasky, Jr.
