Diane Clarke

–

Lacey Township, New Jersey

Diane Clarke, 72 years of age, born and raised in Bayonne New Jersey, and retired to Forked River in 2018, has passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and quiet generosity.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Clarke Sr. and Claire Clarke; her brother, Joseph Clarke Jr.; and her sister, Maryann Zientek, along with her husband, Paul Zientek.

Diane is survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Al Radomski; her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Britt Clarke; her niece, Stacy Puchalik and her husband, Rich; her nephew, Chris Zientek and his wife, Kristin; and nieces, Hannah, Hailey, and Heather Clarke.

Diane devoted her life to caring for others. She earned her nursing degree from Kings County Nursing School and Brooklyn College, and later obtained her master’s degree from New Jersey City University. She began her career at Jersey City Medical Center, where she worked for approximately 15 years in the renal unit. She later found her true calling at the Jersey City Regional Day School for the Developmentally Disabled, where her work became her life’s passion. Diane loved her students deeply—her “kids” were everything to her.

Outside of her professional life, Diane had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. She was known for her generosity and kindness, often donating to animal causes and always keeping milk-bones, and leashes in her car in case she came across a stray or lost dog in need of help.

Diane also had a passion for antiquing and found joy in estate sales, believing that what was once old could be made new again.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations be made in Diane’s name to any of the following three causes that Diane held dear in her heart, The National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, Saint Judes, Children’s Hospital, and the ASPCA.
For your convenience please find the links for all three just below the Plant a Tree link.

At Diane’s request, a Private Celebration of Life will be held.
