In Loving Memory of Richard Silvers

Richard Silvers, 57, formerly of Matawan, New Jersey, and most recently of Little Egg Harbor, passed away unexpectedly.

Richard leaves behind his loving mother, Ethel Silvers; his siblings, Cina (brother-in-law Sal), Cathy (brother-in-law Dewey), brother Ralph, brother Roger (and his late sister-in-law Carryl), and sister Cherie (brother-in-law Gary). He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews, and dear friends Meghan and Christina, along with many others whose lives he touched.

Richard was a man with a truly pure heart. His love for Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life, and he expressed that love through kindness, generosity, and an unwavering willingness to help others. He lived his life thinking of others, often putting their needs before his own.

Richard believed in giving back to his community. He proudly served alongside fellow American Red Cross volunteers, offering his time and compassion to those in need.

He also dedicated his time to Matawan’s Big Fishing Derby, generously donating fishing supplies so local children could experience the joy of fishing. He was instrumental in helping stock the lakes with fish, contributing to a tradition that brought families and the community together.

During his time working at Stop & Shop, Richard approached every task with a willingness to serve. No matter what was asked of him, he was ready to lend a helping hand.

But Richard’s greatest gift wasn’t measured by what he accomplished. It was found in the goodness of his heart. He had a gentle spirit, a sincere love for others, and a desire to make the world a little kinder.

Richard’s life reminds us that a life well lived is not measured by what we have, but by what we give.

Though he left this world far too soon, his kindness, his faith, and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

May he rest in eternal peace in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
