Ronald DeClassis

–

Wildwood, New Jersey

Ronald Bernard DeClassis, known to family and friends as Ronnie, was a man whose life was a symphony of wit, spirit, loyalty, and love. Born on May 17, 1939, in Summit, NJ, and raised in Millburn, NJ. Ron resided in Wildwood, New Jersey for 27 years, Ronald's journey was as vibrant and beautiful as the music that he so deeply cherished. From his early childhood, when he was first mesmerized by the legendary drummer Gene Kroupa on the Steel Pier in Atlantic City, Ronald's passion for drumming became a captivating rhythm that resonated throughout his life. His drumming skills were honed in the marching band, orchestra, and concert band of Millburn High School. His love for early rock n roll and Big Band Music was evident in the band he formed with his high school friends, which played many handsomely paid "gigs".

Ronald's business acumen was as sharp and rhythmic as his drumming. He majored in Business at Upsala College, while working as a Manager for Two Guys in his early years. His love for retail was cultivated from an early age, working for his father, "Benny the Butcher", at the butcher shop he ran, and the old FW Woolworth while growing up in Millburn. His entrepreneurial spirit, nurtured by his mentor, the late Bernie Marcus (Home Depot founder), led him to own multiple businesses, specializing as a Manufacturer's Representative and owner of Nature's Family & Network Sales and Marketing. His dynamic spirit made him a successful and respected figure in the business world.

Ronald was blessed with a large and loving family, which he often referred to as his "Brady Bunch." His first marriage to Patricia blessed him with three children, Deborah, Kenneth, and Ronald Jr. His second marriage to Sandy Isaacson lasted from 1982 until her untimely death in 2016, bringing Heidi, Tyler, and Drew into the fold. He loved them all deeply. Ronald was a loving grandfather to Richard, Kellianne, Allyson, Alex, Katelyn, Sara, and Matthew. Great grandfather to Lexi (Allyson) , Xander (Alexander) and Max (Matthew). He is survived by his daughter Deborah, son Kenneth, stepchildren Heidi Eby (Ty), Tyler Isaacson (Kristen), and Drew Isaacson (Amanda), and his lifelong friend and loving companion, Janice Alpert. He was predeceased by his parents, Ben & Lea, son, Ronald and wife Sandy.

Ronald's life was a testament to his firm belief in family values instilled in him by his Italian American roots. His father was born in Italy, and his mother was a proud 1st generation American. Ronald was extremely proud of his heritage and being an American. His life was a rich tapestry of love, loyalty, wit, and spirit. His laughter, wisdom, and the enchanting rhythm of his drums will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

We invite you to share your memories and photos of Ronald on his memorial page to celebrate the life and legacy of this remarkable man.
